Clear Day - Case Study
Clear Day is an app designed for schools and teachers who organise Casual Relief Teachers (CRT). The App is designed to help schools keep track of their CRT Budget, organise staff absences, and organise the daily bulletin and timetable for the CRT.
APP CONCEPT
I was approached by a teacher from a local primary school who was in charge of organising Casual Relief teachers on a daily basis at work. She had a busy home life and work life and with this responsibility on top, she found it very time consuming and frustrating. Her role as a Teacher and Daily Organiser meant that her job started at 6am every day finding last minute messages from teachers saying they couldnt come into work and needed a replacement teacher.
THE PROCESS
From this conversation, I completed a set of user interviews with teachers, Casual Relief Teachers and a Daily organiser to find Pain points and develop a sollution from there.
THE OUTCOME
Clear Day is an app designed so that the Daily Organisers tasks are set out in one easy to reach place. The app features include;
A home page that gives a summary of the terms absences as well as the budget left to hire Casual Relief teachers.
A calendar page where all teachers log their future or last minute abscences, this can then be exported to the daily bulletin so the whole school has that information
A CRT schedule planner page, this is an easy input of information that then creates a pdf document that can be printed out and sent to the CRT taking a class.
